The Organic Gallery @ 135 Flindser Lane, Melbourne - 2003

I was given an existing first floor gallery space on Flinders Lane, Melbourne; redesigning the space with the topic of Organic, I had chose the concept of different parts of Tree, such as tree brunch, leaves, shadow, etc.

There was holes of tree shadow shape cut out on the timber floor with light underneath, which decorated the space as well as to direct people to explore the gallery space. People will be asked to take off their shoes and place them onto the shoes shelve next to the entrance, so that they can experience the nature of timber with their foot sensory.

Tree bunch columns were installed at different spots as functional walls, they were coloured in black and red in order to create the contrast to the space. At the back of the gallery, there were two counter tables and toilet; the tables were movable that gives flexibility of usage and space.

There were also tree shape cut out on the ceiling which allow sunlight to come through to the interior space of the gallery.
